If you have ever wanted to try watercolor, but didn't know how; or were hesitant to invest in the supplies, you may want to consider "Come Test The Waters", a beginner watercolor workshop.Participants will be asked to bring a few common household items, but high quality brushes, professional grade paints and watercolor paper will be provided for class use.During the workshop, June will demonstrate and you’ll practice color mixing and a variety of watercolor techniques.After class, you’ll take home a small finished painting and perhaps the joy of a new hobby.June will keep the brushes for the next introductory beginner class.If you feel watercolor is right for you, a list of art suppliers and guidance on what to purchase will be available along with a schedule of the next advanced beginner class June will be offering. Class Size:6-9 (minimum of 6 needed to have class) Cost:$45 (includes professional art supplies for use during class)
Class #2 – “Discovering The Artist In You” (Advanced Beginners)
This six week Advanced Beginner Watercolor Class is forming beginning Sat., Oct.13, 2007. It will meet for six consecutive Sat. mornings from 8:00 am-12:00 pm at the Anson County Chamber of Commerce.Class size limited to 6.
“Discover The Artist In You” is designed for adults with little or no experience with watercolor.Students may be new to watercolor or may have previously tried watercolor, bought brushes, paints and supplies but got discouraged and gave up.In a fun, encouraging atmosphere, you will receive guidance and instruction from an experienced artist in creating with this ever-surprising medium.The basic format of the sessions will be step-by-step demonstrations by the instructor, followed by class participation with the instructor’s guidance plus group discussions and critiques. This class is for people who are serious about learning watercolor.Because there will be assignments each session, it is highly recommended that participants paint outside of class at least 2 hrs each week to get the most out of the course.“Come Test The Waters” or equivalent is a prerequisite. Cost: $150, plus supplies.
Class #3 – “You’re Well On Your Way” (Intermediate Level Monthly Classes)
Graduates of "Discovering The Artist In You" and more experienced watercolorists may register for monthly Intermediate classes introducing more advanced techniques, guidance with individual paintings and group critiques. Upcoming Intermediate dates are Sat., Sept. 8, 2007 and Sat., October 7, 2007 from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. Cost:$35 per person/per session (minimum 4 required to have session)
