Breakfast at The Forever Inn Is a Great Way to Start the Day

Make breakfast at The Forever Inn the highlight of your day.  We get rave reviews for breakfasts at The Forever Inn (see reviews below.)

Enjoy your delicious full breakfast in our large mahogany dining room. Get your day off to a great start with a memorable breakfast.

Breakfast at The Forever Inn is made the old-fashioned way.  Our buttermilk biscuits, muffins, banana bread, cinnamon rolls, cobblers, tarts and coffeecakes are all made from scratch. Our coffee is ground fresh every morning. We use real maple syrup, sweet unsalted butter, and when available including local farm fresh eggs, locally made sausage, blackberries and peaches.

During hummingbird season, you can watch the hummingbirds feeding right outside the dining room window.

Breakfast at The Forever Inn B&B
Two of our special breakfast dishes - Maple Pecan Chocolate-Stuffed French Toast and the Apple Puff Pancake - were featured in the July 2010 issue of Our State Magazine (pg. 94) for Anson County.  More details from the article are shown below.
Breakfast starts with a fruit dish, freshly brewed coffee or hot tea, plus juice, followed by one of our specialties:

                              Apple Puff Pancake
                              - one of our guests' favorites - not really a pancake but a hard-to-describe, delicious dish with apples and cinnamon sugar. Served with country sausage or Maple Bacon.
Just Eggs & Grits - cheesy scrambled eggs served with cheese grits, maple bacon and homemade buttermilk biscuits.
Maple Pecan Chocolate-Stuffed French Toast - out of this world! - thick slices of bakery sourdough bread, stuffed with Ghiradelli chocolate, sauteed ‘til golden brown, topped with toasted pecans and served with real maple syrup. Served with crisp Maple Bacon.
The Special (or Homage to Fromage) - Cheesy Grits topped with Cheesy Scrambled Eggs topped with Black Forest Ham and Sharp Cheddar Cheese, layered into an Au Gratin dish and lightly broiled.  Served with Homemade Buttermilk or toasted bakery bread  (sometimes made with Homestyle Potatoes and Maple Bacon).
Light & Airy Buttermilk Pancakes - delicious, tender and light pancakes. Served with real maple syrup and crisp Maple Bacon. Or try our favorite version - Chocolate Chip Pecan Pancakes.  Mmmm, chocolate for breakfast.
Bacon Avocado Tomato Omelet - a fabulous omelet made with fresh eggs, maple bacon, ripe avocado, cheddar cheese and topped with a fresh tomato salsa.  Good enough to make omelet haters into omelet lovers.
Sausage & Cheese Grits Casserole - if you don't like grits, you might like this version.  Full of flavor.  Hot country sausage, sharp cheddar cheese and sauteed sweet onion layered with cheesy buttery grits and topped with a little more Cheddar cheese.  So good and so delicious.
Fancy Scrambled Eggs - a wonderful combination of tender scrambled eggs, a 3-cheese mixture of sharp Cheddar, Gruyere and Romano laced with a savory Mornay sauce.

Anson County ...  The Forever Inn, Wadesboro

"Don't Miss: Chocolate-Stuffed Sourdough French Toast with Pecans and Maple Syrup   Merrie Datin brushed aside any doubts about setting up a gourmet-themed bed and breakfast in Wadesboro: 'If you're passionate enough about what you're doing, you don't listen to all the "No's." You just do it.'  One of Datin's passions is French toast. Not ordinary French toast, mind you, but fluffy sourdough bread, stuffed with chocolate, battered with egg, then gently pan-fried in butter until it is ever-so-crusty. Add pecans. Add more butter. And drizzle pure maple syrup on top of it.  And if you want to try the equally delectable apple puff, plan on staying a second night in this charming and lovingly restored 1910 Queen Anne Victorian house."   Article written by David Bailey, Our State Magazine, July 2010 issue.

NOTE:  Mr. Bailey visited The Forever Inn with his wife and enjoyed both of our breakfast dishes - the Chocolate-Stuffed French Toast and the Apple Puff Pancake - one Sunday evening in March 2010.

Interesting background information regarding the writing of the article:  "Despite putting the piece together for Our State, Bailey didn’t actually visit each of the 100 eateries. Instead, he employed a different method of finding the pearls of the palate.

“One of the things I did when I got the assignment was send out an all-points-bulletin to every serious foodie that I knew — and believe me, I know quite a few,” Bailey said. “I’ve been writing about food for decades, as a restaurant reviewer, as a magazine editor, as a travel writer, as someone who maintained a barbecue blog and finally as a person who loves to share my meals with others through my writing. So I’ve developed a wide network of people who are constantly telling me I’ve got to try this or that and, likewise, I’m constantly suggesting places to them.

“In my e-mail to my foodie friends I said that what I was looking for was something characteristic of the home county but also something that was unexpectedly delicious. That was my way of trying to give each food I featured a measure of difference, a reason for picking it over so many other places and so many other foods. My reasoning was that I wanted my surrogate eaters, as I came to call them, to have some clear justification or special reason why the food stuff they’d picked stood out above others.”
